NEOCLASSICAL FRESCO
Highly unusual chalk or ‘sanguine’ on plaster. A medium famously used during the Renaissance by the likes of Raphael. This work dates from the late 1940s and depicts a dreamscape with cherubs and bathers set in verdant gardens. Original thick faceted timber frame intact. With one small 2.5cm loss to the plaster surface.
